Harmonica Repair, Maintenance, and Warranty Services – Everything You Need to Know

Service & Rates
Services & Rates
I provide expert harmonica repair, maintenance, and customization for players across Canada. Whether your instrument needs a simple cleaning or a complete overhaul, I’ll make sure it plays its best again.
Diatonic Harmonica Maintenance – starting at about $30
Includes disinfection, cleaning, freeing stuck reeds, reed profiling, gapping, and touch-up tuning. The final cost depends on the amount of cleaning required and the specific attributes of your harmonica.
Reed Replacement – about $10 per reed
Individual reed replacement is available only for harmonicas with riveted reeds. It’s not available for welded reeds, and some brands may be subject to the availability of replacement reeds. In some cases, a set of replacement reed plates may be available.
Chromatic Harmonica Repairs – priced individually
Pricing depends on model and required work. Estimates are provided after inspection.
Other Harmonicas
I also service tremolo, octave, bass, chord, and specialty harmonicas when parts are available.
Custom Tunings & Setup
I offer a range of tuning options, from simple retuning to advanced custom setups:
- Country, Paddy Richter, Natural Minor, PowerBender, PowerDraw, Wilde Tuning, and more.
- Overblow setups, half-valving, embossing, reed/comb flattening, and reed alignment.

SEYDEL Warranty Service
Seydel Harmonica Warranty Service (Canada)
I’m a Certified Seydel Service Partner (C.A.S.S.), authorized to perform warranty repairs, maintenance, and setup on Seydel harmonicas for customers across Canada.
Official Seydel Warranty
- C.A. Seydel Söhne warrants their harmonicas to be free from defects in materials and workmanship when leaving the factory.
- Harmonicas with manufacturing defects will be repaired or replaced at Seydel’s discretion for a period of two (2) years from the original purchase date.
- The guarantee does not cover:
- Malfunction or damage caused by misuse, abuse, negligence
- Repairs or alterations not performed by C.A. Seydel Söhne
- Normal wear items such as reeds and valves
- Instruments altered or worked on by the owner beyond regular cleaning
- Proof of purchase is required for all warranty service requests.
Note: Seydel’s warranty terms are subject to change at their discretion. In case of any discrepancy, the version published on the official Seydel website or included with your harmonica’s documentation will take priority.
How to Request Warranty Service
- Contact me first with your model, a description of the issue, and your proof of purchase.
- I’ll confirm parts availability and whether the problem appears warranty-eligible.
- Ship or drop off your harmonica (see the Shipping Guidlines section of the Technical Services page for packing tips).
Preparation & Shipping
- Clean the instrument if possible before sending.
- Pack it in a sturdy, well-padded box (including the original case inside for extra protection).
- Use a trackable, insured shipping method. All returns will be tracked and insured as well.
If It’s Not Covered by the Warranty
If the issue is not covered, I can provide a clear estimate for out-of-warranty repair (such as reed replacement, tuning, or valve work) before any work proceeds.
Contact me to Start a Seydel warranty request — I’ll review your details and guide you through the process.
Woozle Shop Warranty
Woozle Shop Warranty
All new harmonicas purchased directly from Woozle Harmonicas — and all harmonicas serviced here — are covered by my Woozle Shop Warranty. This warranty is separate from any manufacturer’s warranty and is designed to give you confidence in your purchase or repair.
Coverage for New Harmonicas Purchased from Me
- One free reed replacement within 30 days of delivery.
- Discounted reed replacement at $5 per reed for the next 11 months.
- Applies only to instruments that have not been altered or serviced by anyone other than Woozle Harmonicas (regular cleaning is fine).
- Warranty does not apply to harmonicas drop-shipped directly from a supplier without passing through my shop for a pre-sale inspection.
Coverage for Repaired Harmonicas
- All repair work is guaranteed to perform as agreed at the time of service.
- If you have any concerns about a recent repair, contact me immediately so I can make it right.
Exclusions
- Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or unauthorized modification.
- Normal wear on reeds, valves, or finishes.

Policies & Limitations

Policies & Limitations

I’m committed to providing clear, honest service — and that includes being upfront about what’s possible and what isn’t.

When Repairs Aren’t Possible

Some instruments are unrepairable due to age, lack of parts, or damage that makes repair impractical. If that’s the case, I’ll let you know right away and, if possible, refer you to another technician who may be able to help.

Brand & Parts Limitations

Certain brands may have limited replacement parts available, especially for welded-reed harmonicas. In some cases, only full reed plate replacement may be an option.

Estimates & Handling Fee

Detailed estimates are provided after I’ve inspected the harmonica in person.

If an estimate is declined, a $20 handling fee applies, plus return shipping.

No handling fee if the estimate is accepted.

No Surprise Upgrades

I may occasionally recommend additional work or improvements, but I’ll always confirm with you before proceeding — you’ll never see surprise charges.

Questions?

If you’re unsure whether your harmonica can be repaired, contact me to discuss your options before shipping.
